کچھ عرصہ قبل حنفی علما کو محسوس ہوا کہ محدثین نے اپنی کتب میں جو احادیث جمع کی ہیں ان میں ہمارے مذہب کے دلائل بہت شاذ ہیں اور ان کی کتابوں میں ان کے فقہی رجحانات کا بہت اثر ہے۔ لہذا حنفی علما نے ایسی کتابیں لکھنے کا بیڑہ اٹھایا جن میں حنفی مذہب کے دلائل پر مشتمل احادیث جمع ہوں اس پر سب سے پہلے علامہ نیموی نے ’آثار السنن‘ کے نام سے کتاب لکھی اس کے بعد مولانا اشرف علی تھانوی کچھ عرصہ قبل حنفی علما کو محسوس ہوا کہ محدثین نے اپنی کتب میں جو احادیث جمع کی ہیں ان میں ہمارے مذہب کے دلائل بہت شاذ ہیں اور ان کی کتابوں میں ان کے فقہی رجحانات کا بہت اثر ہے۔ لہذا حنفی علما نے ایسی کتابیں لکھنے کا بیڑہ اٹھایا جن میں حنفی مذہب کے دلائل پر مشتمل احادیث جمع ہوں اس پر سب سے پہلے علامہ نیموی نے ’آثار السنن‘ کے نام سے کتاب لکھی اس کے بعد مولانا اشرف علی تھانوی نے مولانا احمد حسن سنبھلی کے ساتھ مل کر حنفی مذہب کی مؤید احادیث اور شرح و بسط سے ان پر روایتاً و درایتاً بحث کرنے کی کوشش کی۔ یہ کام کتاب الحج پر پہنچا اور اس کی ایک جلد شائع ہوئی تو مولانا تھانوی نے اس کا جائزہ لینے کے بعد احمد حسن سنبھلی کو آڑے ہاتھوں لیا کہ انہوں نے اپنی طرف سے بہت کچھ بدل ڈالا تھا حتیٰ کہ مولانا تھانوی کی بہت سی تصحیحات کو بھی بدل دیا اور بقول ان کے کتاب کا اصل منہج ہی باقی نہ رہا۔ اس کے بعد مولانا عثمانی نے ا س کام کا بیڑا اٹھایا اور اس کو از سر نو پایہ تکمیل تک پہنچایا۔ اس کا نام ’اعلاء السنن‘ رکھا گیا جو کراچی سے سولہ جلدوں میں شائع ہوا۔ زیر مطالعہ کتاب میں اسی کتاب ’اعلاء السنن‘ کا جائزہ پیش کیا گیا ہے۔ مولانا ارشاد الحق اثری معروف عالم دین اور تبحر علمی میں بے نظیر ہیں۔ آپ نے اس کتاب میں ’اعلاء السنن‘ کی فقہی مباحث سے تعرض نہیں کیا بلکہ ان قواعد اور اصولوں کو ذکر کرنے پر اکتفا کیا ہے جن کو مولانا عثمانی نے حدیث کی تصحیح و تضعیف میں اختیار کیا ہے۔ احناف کو آئینہ دکھانے والی یہ ایک نہایت سنجیدہ اور علمی کاوش ہے جس میں اہل علم کے لیے بہت سا سامان موجود ہے۔(ع۔م)
