"دخل العرب في طور سياسي جديد بعد زوال الحكم العثماني، ووجدوا أنفسهم أمام معاهدة "سايكس بيكو"، التي كانت قد وقعت سراً في القاهرة في 16 ايار 1916، واقتسمت إنكلترا وفرنسا مناطق النفوذ العربية المنسلخة عن الدولة العثمانية. كما وجدوا انفسهم أمام وعد بلفور الذي قطعته إنكلترا لليهود في 2 تشرين الثاني 1917.
وقد رافق فارس الخوري القضية العربية في جميع مراحلها. وكان من رجالها البارزي "دخل العرب في طور سياسي جديد بعد زوال الحكم العثماني، ووجدوا أنفسهم أمام معاهدة "سايكس بيكو"، التي كانت قد وقعت سراً في القاهرة في 16 ايار 1916، واقتسمت إنكلترا وفرنسا مناطق النفوذ العربية المنسلخة عن الدولة العثمانية. كما وجدوا انفسهم أمام وعد بلفور الذي قطعته إنكلترا لليهود في 2 تشرين الثاني 1917.
