أصدر جبران (الأجنحة المتكسّرة) عام 1912 في نيويورك. وإذا كانت نصوصه في كتابيه السابقين (عرائس المروج) و(الأرواح المتمرّدة) قد أخذت شكل القصة القصيرة، فإنه في (الأجنحة المتكسّرة) حاول أن يقارب شكل الرواية. لذلك أفرد لها كتاباً مستقلاً، وقسّمها إلى فصول متعددة يحمل كل منها عنواناً خاصاً به، وقدّم لها بتوطئة تهيّئ القارئ للتفاعل مع ما سيتعرّف عليه من الشخصيّات، وما سيطالعه من أصدر جبران (الأجنحة المتكسّرة) عام 1912 في نيويورك. وإذا كانت نصوصه في كتابيه السابقين (عرائس المروج) و(الأرواح المتمرّدة) قد أخذت شكل القصة القصيرة، فإنه في (الأجنحة المتكسّرة) حاول أن يقارب شكل الرواية. لذلك أفرد لها كتاباً مستقلاً، وقسّمها إلى فصول متعددة يحمل كل منها عنواناً خاصاً به، وقدّم لها بتوطئة تهيّئ القارئ للتفاعل مع ما سيتعرّف عليه من الشخصيّات، وما سيطالعه من أحداث.
