العلم والدين والعلاقة بينهما مسألة تحوَّلت إلى همٍّ من الهموم الفكرية التي تشغل المفكرين في العالم عامة وفي العالم الإسلامي بوجه خاص. والسؤال الذي يسعى الكتاب لتقديم الإجابة عنه هو: هل يمكن ديننة العلم؟ أي هل يمكن للدين أن يقدم للعلم ما يخدم مسيرته على صُعُدٍ عدة؟ ويتضمن الكتاب رؤىً متفاوتة بين مؤيِّد ومعارض مع اختلاف بين المؤيِّدين والمعارضين في زاوية النظر وموقع التأييد العلم والدين والعلاقة بينهما مسألة تحوَّلت إلى همٍّ من الهموم الفكرية التي تشغل المفكرين في العالم عامة وفي العالم الإسلامي بوجه خاص. والسؤال الذي يسعى الكتاب لتقديم الإجابة عنه هو: هل يمكن ديننة العلم؟ أي هل يمكن للدين أن يقدم للعلم ما يخدم مسيرته على صُعُدٍ عدة؟ ويتضمن الكتاب رؤىً متفاوتة بين مؤيِّد ومعارض مع اختلاف بين المؤيِّدين والمعارضين في زاوية النظر وموقع التأييد والمعارضة، فمنهم من يرى أن الدين يكشف للإنسان عن القيم، والعلم يصف له الواقع؛ فلا تداخل مجالات بين الطرفين، ولا تواصل. ومنهم من يرى أن الدين دوره هداية الإنسان ومن الطبيعي أن يكون وصف الدين للوقائع مساعدا على هداية الإنسان، وهذا أحد أبواب التداخل بين العلم والدين.
