إن المعاني الإنسانية، تتنامى بوجود المجتمعات وتدرجها، ومادامت الحياة على ظهر هذه المعمورة، وما دام عقل يتفكر في خلق السماوات والأرض، وبهذا يحقق الإنسان وجوده من خلال المعاني والتفكير، فن القول، وكلها بمعنى واحد عند التصور والتذوق والاستفادة والدرس، والتعليم والتعلم والتوجيه والتقويم، يأتي حيث الباحث حول مفهوم المعنى بين الأدب والبلاغة في هذا الإطار وذلك للتأكيد على معنى واحد وهو أن التلازم الشامل بين المعنى النفسي والظاهر من خلال فن القول، حقيقة لا تقبل النقاش الفلسفي أو النظري وانطلاقاً من هذا القول حاول الباحث التطرق إلى البحث في علاقة المعنى باللفظ لأن المعنى والحالة تلك لا يمكن أن يكون بمنأى عن اللفظ وما يرد من سمات وتفصيل على المعنى فإنه يندرج على المعنى القائم باللفظ، ما بينهما من رابط يحقق الانسجام والتآلف وحسن النسق، وينبئ عن سياسة بيانية للكلام ولذلك قالوا إن الذوق الأدبي في شيء إنما هو عن فهمه، وأن الحكم على شيء إنما هو أثر الذوق فيه، وأن النقد: إنما هو الذوق والفهم، ولا تكون تربية الذوق من غير معان من أساليب، ولا يكون الفهم لأساليب من غير محتوى.
هذا ما حدا بالباحث إلى التطرق لمعرفة أساليب العرب التي هي دلائل لإعجاز القرآن الكريم، للتأكيد على أن فصاحة القرآن يجب أن تبقى مفهومة، ولا يدنو الفهم منها إلا بالمرات والمزاولة ودرس الأساليب الفصحى، والاحتذاء عليها وأحكام اللغة والبصر بدقائقها، وفنون بلاغتها والحرص على سلامة الذوق فيها، وقد حصر الباحث دراسته هذه ضمن فصول أربعة، دار الأول حول مواطن دلالة المعنى، والثاني تناول المعنى والتعبير الفني، وخصص الثالث لبيان المعنى والتصوير البياني ودار الرابع حول المعنى وتنوع المقاصد، وفي الخاتمة أوجز المؤلف الغاية والمقصود من موضوعه المطروح.
