البقاعي، برهان الدين (809 - 885 هـ = 1406 - 1480 م).
إبراهيم بن عمر بن حسن الرُّبَاط - بضم الراء وتخفيف الباء - بن علي بن أبي بكر البقاعي، أبو الحسن برهان الدين: مؤرخ أديب.
أصله من البقاع في سورية، وسكن دمشق ورحل إلى بيت المقدس والقاهرة، وتوفي بدمشق.
له (عنوان الزمان في تراجم الشيوخ والأقران - خ) أربع مجلدات، و (عنوان العنوان - خ) مختصر عنوان الزمان، و (أسواق الأشواق - خ) اختصر به مصارع العشاق، و (الباحة في علمي الحساب والمساحة - خ) و (أخبار الجلاد في فتح البلاد - خ) و (نظم الدرر في تناسب الآيات والسور - خ) [ثم طُبع] سبع مجلدات، يعرف بمناسبات البقاعي أو تفسير البقاعي، و (بذل النصح والشفقة للتعريف بصحبة ورقة - خ) وله ديوان شعر سماه (إشعار الواعي بأشعار البقاعي) و (جواهر البحار في نظم سيرة المختار - خ) أتمه في رشيد (من بلاد مصر) في صفر سنة 848 هـ، و (الإعلام، بسن الهجرة إلى الشام - خ) رسالة، و (مصرع التصوف - ط) و (مختصر في السيرة النبوية والثلاثة الخلفاء - خ) في مكتبة عبيد، بدمشق، و (القول المفيد في أصول التجويد - خ) في الرباط، و (سر الروح - ط) اختصره من كتاب (الروح) لابن قيم الجوزية، و (مصاعد النظر للإشراف على مقاصد السور - خ) [ثم طُبع] في خزانة الرباط، (239 كتاني).

هذا كتاب جليل وضع فيه مصنفه علما لم يسبقه إليه أحد، ذكر فيه مناسبات ترتيب السور والآيات، وأطال فيه التدبر وأنعم فيه التفكر لآيات الكتاب. فهو إذا يشمل على أحد جوانب الإعجاز اللغوي في القرآن الكريم. بين فيه الربط بين جميع أجزاء القرآن، ووجه النظم مفصلاً بين كل آية وآية في كل سورة من القرآن الكريم.
