الأندلس إحدى مقاطعات إسبانيا، واسمها في الأصل «وندلوسيا» نسبة إلى الواندال أو
ً الفندال، وكانوا قد استوطنوها بعد الرومان.. فلما فتحها العرب سٌ موها الأندلس، ثم
أطلقوا هذا الاسم على إسبانيا كلها.
وكانت إسبانيا في جملة مملكة الرومان الغربية إلى القرن الخامس للميلاد، فسطا
عليها القوط، وهم من القبائل الجرمانية الذين رحلوا من أعالي الهند إلى أوربا طلبًا للمرعى
واملعاش، وأقاموا الأندلس إحدى مقاطعات إسبانيا، واسمها في الأصل «وندلوسيا» نسبة إلى الواندال أو

واملعاش، وأقاموا في بوادي أوربا، كما أقام العرب في بوادي الشام والعراق. ثم سطا القوم
على مملكة الرومان الغربية قبل سطو العرب على اململكة الشرقية ببضعة قرون، وأنشأوا
املمالك في فرنسا وأملانيا وانجلترا وغريها، وهي الدول الباقية في أوربا حتى الآن..
