اختارت د. سهير أبو جلّود، نصوص يوسف الخال لأنها تحمل في طياتها خزيناً واسعاً وثراً من التجارب، ولأن الشاعر يعتبر أن الحداثة وكل ما فيها من وعي جديد بمتغيرات الحياة ومستجداتها الحضارية هي في تخطي كل ثابت، وأن الحداثة الشعرية هي ذلك الإبداع والخروج عن المألوف وانعكاسه في لغة غير مألوفة، فحفلت قصائده بالرمزية وبالإيحاءات المتميزة والتجارب المنوعة لروح الإنسان.
