أما هو فرجل عاش بمثالياته معتقداً بأن تلك المثاليات ستدوم معه إلى الأبد إلى أن حانت اللحظة التي كاد يخسر فيها كل شيء
هي الأخرى كان جل ما تطمح إليه أن تحصل على فرصة حياة جديدة تكون فيها شخصاً محبوباً حتى كادت أن تفارق العالم

في الرواية تجد [ قمر ] نفسها مسئولة عن أخوتها الصغار ، بعد مقتل والدها وانهيار والدتها ، تواجه حياة صعبة مليئة بالتحديات أولها ارتباطها بـ [ ضياء ] والذي سبق أن رفضته في حياة والدها ، ها هو يأتي مجدداً مستغل ضعفها ليتقدم لها من جديد فكيف ستكون نهايتهما ، تتبعها صديقتها [ جود ] فتاة جميلة متزوجة من رجل ذا منصب سياسي [ غسان ] أحبها حد الجنون ولكن جود تائهة تبحث عن ذاتها وسط كوابيس مؤرقة عن ماضي مؤلم مازالت تعاني منه ، تحاول أن تكتم سرها لكي لا تفسد
حياتها ولكن الأمور تأخذ منحنى آخر ، بين دوافع الإنتقام تسقط العديد من الأقنعة والضحايا
لكن، كل ما عليهم فعله هو التقدم إلى الأمام.. فهناك دوماً في نهاية المطاف يومٌ جديدٌ ينتظر أن تفتح السماء عينيها
