Während die Bürokratie langsam oder besser: gar nicht mahlt, entpuppt sich die Geschichte dieser scheinbaren Zweckfreundschaft als etwas völlig anderes. Bald sind die Rollen vertauscht. Der vermeintliche syrische Bittsteller hilft dem Diplomaten aus den absurden Schlamasseln, in die dieser sich verstrickt: eine durch Taubenzüchtung ausgelöste Ehekrise, ein aussichtsloser Investitionsplan für das Botschaftsgelände, ein wahnwitziges Fotoshooting. Ein fulminanter, komischer Roman voller Selbstironie über die kafkaeske Warterei auf ein Visum und über eine seltsam zärtliche und groteske Annäherung.
Assaf Alassaf wurde 1976 in Deir ez-Zor, Syrien geboren. Seit 2007 hat er zahlreiche Artikel in arabischen Tageszeitungen wie Al Hayat und Al Mustakbal veröffentlicht. Seit Anfang 2014 lebt er in Beirut und arbeitet als Zahnarzt in einem medizinischen Zentrum für syrische Flüchtlinge. Die Texte über Abu Jürgen, den fiktiven deutschen Botschafter entstanden in der Zeit zwischen November 2014 und Februar 2015 auf Facebook.
Sandra Hetzl wurde 1980 in München geboren und lebt in Beirut. Sie studierte an der UdK Visual Culture Studies, arbeitet als Literaturübersetzerin aus dem Arabischen. Außerdem ist sie der Kopf hinter 10/11. Weitere Informationen hier
