بدا ما قدمه "المؤرخون الجدد"، وهم أكاديميون في مجالات التاريخ والعلوم السياسية والاجتماع، كأنه إنجاز عربي. لم نكن بحاجة إليه؛ فما أخرجوه من الأرشيف الإسرائيلي يسهم في تفكيك الرواية الإسرائيلية الرسمية لنكبة 1948، ويقترب من الرواية الفلسطينية التي لم يتح لها أن تصل إلى العالم بمثل تأثيرهم. جهود "المؤرخين الجدد" لم تغير في السياسات الاستعمارية العنصرية، وعلينا عزيزي القارئ
بدا ما قدمه "المؤرخون الجدد"، وهم أكاديميون في مجالات التاريخ والعلوم السياسية والاجتماع، كأنه إنجاز عربي. لم نكن بحاجة إليه؛ فما أخرجوه من الأرشيف الإسرائيلي يسهم في تفكيك الرواية الإسرائيلية الرسمية لنكبة 1948، ويقترب من الرواية الفلسطينية التي لم يتح لها أن تصل إلى العالم بمثل تأثيرهم. جهود "المؤرخين الجدد" لم تغير في السياسات الاستعمارية العنصرية، وعلينا أن نبحث عن توقيت هذه الموجة، في ضوء ما جرى بعد هزيمة 1967، إذ ظهرت أسطورة الهولوكوست بمبالغاتها؛ للضغط على الضمير العالمي، وتحويل انتباهه عن العدوان الصهيوني وابتلاع بقية فلسطين والجولان وسيناء، إلى مأساة اليهود على يد النازي.
الآمال المعقودة على مؤرخي إسرائيل الجدد لا تختلف كثيرا عن أوهام تعقد على لقاءات مثقفين خائبي الرجاء وسياسيين متقاعدين مع نظرائهم الصهاينة، ولم يدلنا أي من المشاركين في هذه الاجتماعات، منذ تحالف كوبنهاجن عام 1999 حتى لقاء محمد البرادعي بمجرم الحرب إيهود باراك (2017)، على تغيير إسرائيلي يمكن الرهان عليه. يبدو كل شيء مقصودا ومحسوبا لإضفاء شرعية على التطبيع.
