عندما وقفت في المسجد العظيم صباح ذاك اليوم عام 2004 ونظرت إلى السماء الزرقاء، تملكني إحساس عميق بالعلاقة بين الإسمنت والروح. في وسط فوضى الأشياء المادية، نجد سماء ونربح فضاء. لو لم يكن هناك شيئٌ ماديًٌ لما توافر إطار يجذب أعيننا إلى السماء. ومن دون الجمال الأبدي للسماء، ما كنا لنستطيع أن نلاحظ الجمال المؤقت لأنفسنا المادية. الروح والإسمنت: كلاهما موجود في اللحظة ذاتها، كلاهما ضروري لتشكيل مدينة، كلاهما ضروري لتأليف مسرحية".
