من الأمور التي تشير لها نظرية النظم أن وجود مشكلة لدى أحد الأعضاء يشكل مشكلة لكل الأسرة، فوجود المشكلة لدى الإبن تؤثر في الأب والأم والأخت، وهم يشكلوا جزءاً مسبباً في تلك المشكلة، ولذلك لابد من النظر للمشكلات الموجودة لدى أفراد الأسرة وتقديرها وإشراك أفراد الأسرة الأخرين في عملية علاجها، ومن هنا جاءت فكرة هذا الجزء من الكتاب والمعني بالتكيف الزوجي، لأنه يشارك الزوجين في أي مشكلة قد تقع بينهما، حيث يفترض مؤلفا هذا الكتاب أن أي مشكلة تحدث في الأسرة، هي مشكلة كل الأسرة ولذلك فإن حلها لابد أن يقع على عاتق كل أفراد الأسرة. ومن هنا فإن هذا الكتاب يضع مسؤولية مشتركة في كل مشكلة من المشكلات التي يطرحها سواء في حدوثها أو في علاجها على الطرفين الزوج والزوجة.
إن هذا الكتاب يتحدث عن ثلاث وأربعين مشكلة من المشكلات الشائعة في الأسر العربية، وخاصة بين الزوجين، وهو لايتحدث عن إجراءات معقدة للتعامل مع تلك المشكلات وإنما إجراءات مبسطة يمكن من خلالها للزوجين من إتباع أساليب بسيطة تساعدهما في حل تلك المشكلات، ويقوم تحليل كل مشكلة بالحديث عن تعريف المشكلة وابرز اسباب حدوثها وأعراض حدوث تلك المشكلة وكيفية الوقاية منها وكيفية التعامل معها وعلاجها في حالة حدوثها، ويصلح هذا الكتاب لكل زوجين ولأي أسرة، فهو لا يعني بالأسر التي تعاني من مشكلات فقط، كما أن هذا الكتاب يمكن أن يكون معيناً للأفراد المقبلين على الزواج حيث يساعدهم في الوقاية من العديد من المشكلات التي يمكن حدوثها.
