فكرة الضبط والتصحيح للكتب الأربعة عندنا، مع التعليق عليها بما يناسب، راودتني منذ زمن ليس بالقصير، ولعلها نبتت في ذهني منذ ابتلائي بمراجعتها والإطلاع عليها، حيث كنت أرى ما يعتور عبارات بعض مواضعها من تشويش يحتاج إلى تهذيب، وما تستبطنه من غموض يحتاج إلى توضيح وشرح وتبسيط، ومن الطبيعي أن أي مطالع لها لا يتسنى له الرجوع إل ما وُضع حولها من شروح مطولة وتعليقات مسهبة من قبل أعاظم علمائنا رضوان الله عليهم منذ قرون، وإنما يتأتى ذلك للبعض ممن يستطيع التوفر على تلك الكتب، وكان قادراً على الإمساك بها والتعامل معها بما يملك من رصيد فكري، ولكن الغالبية قد لا تستطيع الوصول إلى تلك الكتب وهي إن استطاعت فقد لا تستطيع شريحة منها لا يستهان بها أن تستوعب كثيراً من أفكارها والآراء المثبتة فيها، وهي إن استطاعت فقد يشق عليها أن يختا من بين عدة شروح مدرجة للعبارة موضوع الحاجة الرأي الأقرب إلى الصواب من بين تلك المحتملات المتعددة والأنظار المختلفة.
كل هذا، كان يجعل الفكرة تلحّ علي، وقد لمست عند بعض أخواني الهاجس نفسه وربما أوحى إلي بالتشجيع لتجسيد ما يختمر في ذهني عملياً والمباشرة بتنفيذه.
ولكن، كان ينتابني الشعور بالقلق والتهيب من ولوج ذلك الباب، بل الشعور بالعجز والقصور عن إرتياده نظراً للتقدم في السن، الذي يحمل معه فتور الهمة وضعف الجوارح، منضماً إليه كثرة الهموم وتراكب المصائب العامة والخاصة نتيجة الإضطراب الأمني والسياسي والإجتماعي الذي يلف حياتنا منذ مدة طويلة ويلقي بكلكله الكريه على حياتنا وواقعنا.
هذا إضافة إلى حساسية الموضوع نظراً لكونه يتعلق بالإسلام عقيدته وشريعته وأحكامه، من خلال المعصوم، فكيف يتسنى لإنسان مثلي أن يخوض هذا البحر اللجّي بأمواجه العاتية وقعره العميق العميق وهو لا يملك من أدوات العوم أو الغوص إلا وسائل محدودة في الزمان والمكان والقدرات؟!...
