الكتاب متاح (نسخة ورقية والكترونية) على موقع لما كان اليوم الموعود، في أول السنة الحادية عشر بعد الألف الثانية، انطلق الجمع من كل حيٍ وزقاق، ينادون بما كان عليه الاتفاق: بكف البطش بالعوام بغير دليل، والقصد في نهب أرزاقهم ولو بالقليل. وبرغم زخم الجمع في الطرقات، وتهليل الناس لهم من الشرفات، لما رأوا من صدق شكواهم ونبل مسعاهم، على أن الكتاب متاح (نسخة ورقية والكترونية) على موقع لما كان اليوم الموعود، في أول السنة الحادية عشر بعد الألف الثانية، انطلق الجمع من كل حيٍ وزقاق، ينادون بما كان عليه الاتفاق: بكف البطش بالعوام بغير دليل، والقصد في نهب أرزاقهم ولو بالقليل. وبرغم زخم الجمع في الطرقات، وتهليل الناس لهم من الشرفات، لما رأوا من صدق شكواهم ونبل مسعاهم، على أن بأسهم ما كان ليزلزل عرش السلطان، وما كان حتى ليضمن أمنهم في قابل الزمان. لكن ربك إذا أراد: سلط جنده على من أساء من العباد، وكانت جند ربك يومئذٍ سوء البصيرة والعناد. إذ ضُرِب بها السلطان وقائد جنده، فأسرفوا في العسف والشدة، وكان أن سرى العسس في الجمع كالنار في الهشيم، يفتكون ما فرقوا بين مريض وسليم، ورأى الخلقُ ذاك الجهل الذميم، فخرج الناس ألوفَ ألوفٍ الى الميدان، يغيثون من طالب بحقهم من الطغيان، وهاجت فيهم روحٌ من الجلدِ والعصيان، على أثر ظلم كابدوه منذ أن وعوا بالزمان. وأجمعوا دون اتفاق على ألا رجوع إلا بخلع السلطان، ثم سارت الأمور كما سيفصلُ هذا البيان، في سيرةِ إنسانٍ من هذه الآحاد، كان في ذلك الجمع الأول الناقم على الفساد. ولقد قصدنا في هذا الكتابِ إظهار أخبار الآحادِ دون أخبار الملوكِ والطبقات العليَّه، فأخبار الملوك إن شئت قرأتها في كتابات المؤرخين وأوراقِ الصُحَّاف ونمائم الرعية، ولئن طالعت أخبار واحدٍ منهم كفاك البقية، لذلك آثرنا ألا يضيع ذكر الآحاد، ممن كان لهم أثرٌ في البلاد، وكان في سعيهم من العِبَر ما قد ينفع العباد. فأوردنا في ذلك الباب ما جائنا من أمر هذا الانسان: كُتب له أو عنه أو دوَّنه هو ببيان، ورأينا أن نحجب الأسماءَ فليس لذكرها هنا مكاناً أو سببا، ونفصلُ فيما يلي ما جرى لذلك الإنسان من أمرٍ كان عجبا.
