ويشتمل هذا الكتاب على قسمين: القسم الأول دراسة بعنوان "فلتر ينيامين: مدخل أولي لقراءة فكره النقدي"، ولا شك أنها ستساعد القارئ على فهم وإستيعاب الخطوط العامة والأساسية لفكر ينيامين: وخاصة أنه ليس من السهل الخوض في متاهات كتابته ونصوصه وفهم فكره.
أما القسم الثاني

أما القسم الثاني فقد تضمن نصوصاً مختارة لفلتر ينيامين ترجمتها قصد تعميق بعض الجوانب المتعلقة بفلسفته؛ وقد شملت موضوعات تلقي الضوء على وجهة نظره في المعرفة والفن والسياسة والتاريخ، وغيرها من الموضوعات التي عالجها هذا المفكر؛ أما الغرض الثاني الذي يمكن أن نستشفه من خلال ترجمة هذه النصوص فهو الإتصال المباشر بفكره الفلسفي والجمالي قصد تمكين القارئ العربي من تعميق معرفته بهذا المفكر.
ونأمل أن يسد هذا الكتاب فراغاً ملحوظاً وحاجة ملحة عند الطلبة الذين لا يعرف أغلبهم عن فلتر بنيامين إلا اسمه، وفي أحسن الأحوال بعض عناوين كتبه؛ وقد يساعد أيضاً الباحثين والمهتمين بالدراسات المتخصصة في النظرية النقدية لمدرسة فرانكفورت عموماً وفي فكر فلتر بنيامين على وجه الخصوص، وخاصة أنّ المكتبة العربية تعاني نقصاً كبيراً في ما يخص الدراسات المتخصصة في هذا الفكر.
