إن البساطة التي تدعيها كوميديا الموقف يمكن أن تكون وسيلة لتمرير الأفكار وتطوير المعايير المجتمعية فكمويديا الموقف لا تعكس فقط القيم السائدة والعلاقات المقبولة من المجتمع ولكنها تعرض أيضاُ صراع الأفكار في المجتمع ، ولكن بمعالجة كوميدية وبالتالي بأسلوب أقل عدائية ، فكوميديا الموقف هي تعليم لطيف وعجيب لمهارتين مهمتين : كيف تشاهد التليفزيون وكيف تكشف مع عائلة مع تكيف متسامح متبادل " مهارات عدائية " . ورغم أهمية ذلك الدور النقدي / التعليمي الذي تقوم به كوميديا الموقف والمجتمع ، فإن الدراسات مازالت قليلة جداً ولا تتناسب مع حجم وأهمية وتأثير كوميديا الموقف ومن هنا كانت ضرورة إجراء هذه الدراسة حول كوميديا الموقف كأحد الأنواع المهمة وذلك التأثير علي شاشة التليفزيون.
