إن من أهم أسباب الوقوع في شبهة التحريف والترويج لها سياسيا ودينيا:
1-روايات كيفية جمع القرآن التي تعرضها مدرسة الصحابة وتحاول إثباتها.
2-إن القرآن جمع بعد وفاة رسول الله (ص) وفي زمن الصحابة.
3-روايات نسخ التلاوة: بمعنى أن تلك الآيات موجودة ولكن تلاوتها منسوخة.
4-روايات تعدد القراءات إلى سبع أو عشر أو أربع عشرة ومن بعدها القراءات الشاذة.
5-الروايات الموضوعة والمكذوبة ولأي سبب كا إن من أهم أسباب الوقوع في شبهة التحريف والترويج لها سياسيا ودينيا:
1-روايات كيفية جمع القرآن التي تعرضها مدرسة الصحابة وتحاول إثباتها.

6-إن الروايات المتقدمة كلها روايات آحاد لا توجب العلم واليقين.
كل هذه وغيرها أخذها المغرضون ذريعة للتشكيك في صحة القرآن ودخول التحريف عليه، وأخذ هذه القضية الفرقاء المتخاصمون خصوصا بين السنة والشيعة سلاحا لمحاربة بعضهم البعض الآخر.
