قبل 48 ساعة من إعلان ميلاد دولة إسرائيل، قرر الملك فاروق إشتراك مصر في أول معركة من معارك الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي وهو يعلم أن الجيش المصري لا يملك الإمكانات الضرورية لخوض مثل هذة التجربة، وبالرغم من بسالة الجيش المصري، إلا أنه واجه الهزيمة في معركة 1948.
ويصل عبد الناصر إلى قمة السلطة في مصر، وتتطور الأحداث إلى أن يعلن في يوليو 1956 تأميم قناة السويس، ويوم 29 أكتوبر تبدأ م قبل 48 ساعة من إعلان ميلاد دولة إسرائيل، قرر الملك فاروق إشتراك مصر في أول معركة من معارك الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي وهو يعلم أن الجيش المصري لا يملك الإمكانات الضرورية لخوض مثل هذة التجربة، وبالرغم من بسالة الجيش المصري، إلا أنه واجه الهزيمة في معركة 1948.
ويصل عبد الناصر إلى قمة السلطة في مصر، وتتطور الأحداث إلى أن يعلن في يوليو 1956 تأميم قناة السويس، ويوم 29 أكتوبر تبدأ معركة العدوان الثلاثي، وتواجه مصر القوات الإنجليزية والفرنسية والإسرائيليلة قبل أن تتمكن من إستكمال تدريبها على الأسلحة التى حصلت عليها من الكتلة الشيوعية عام 1955.
وتنتهي المعركة بهزيمة ثانية للجيش المصري ويقرر الرئيس المصري جمال عبد الناصر في منتصف مايو 1967 حشد القوات المسلحة في سيناء ويغلق خليج العقبة.
وتندلع الحرب التى خاضتها دون إستعداد أو تبصر ويرحل عبد الناصر في سبتمبر 1970، ويتسلم السادات مسئولياته كرئيس لمصر.
وبعد أن تعلمت مصر الدرس، فقرر السادات الإستعداد لبدء أول معركة هجومية ضد إسرائيل، وتنطلق النيران يوم 6 أكتوبر 1973.
وتجني مصر ثمار التخطيط والتدريب الجيد، وتحقق أول إنتصار في تاريخ الصراع العسكري المصري الإسرائيلي.
