إن الكاتبة هنا تطرق مجالا حيويا وجديدا, وتستكشف أشكالا فنية جديدة للتعبير عن هذا المجال. إن الأوراق التي كتبت في هذه ليست سيرة ذاتية تقليدية رغم المادة الذاتية المتمثلة في أوراق شخصية. هذه محاولة شخصية لمواجهة الذات وتحطيم الأساطير والأوهام, بغية التعرف الحق على الذات. وهي محاولة غاية في الذاتية يخوضها كل إنسان واع ولا يفصح عادة عنها, ولكن شاءت الكاتبة أن تشارك فيها قارءها
إن الكاتبة هنا تطرق مجالا حيويا وجديدا, وتستكشف أشكالا فنية جديدة للتعبير عن هذا المجال. إن الأوراق التي كتبت في أزمنة متعددة وفي مناسبات متغايرة وبأهداف شتى, تتناقض وتتصادم وتتضارب على صفحات الكتاب لتنتظم في النهاية متسقة في وحدة تلقي الضوء على صراع رئيسي في حياة الكاتبة, وعلى انفراج هذا الصراع سنة 1981
