جاء هذا الكتاب كتحيق لرسالة زعماء الصوما إلى الشيخ سلطان بن صقر القاسمي في عام 1837م ، حيث ذكر سمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي ، التالي كمقدمة الكتاب:
كان من ضمن المخطوطات التي في حوزتي، رسالة زعماء الصومال إلى الشيخ سلطان بن صقر القاسمي ،يطلبون منه فيها أن يتملك عليهم،ويضم ملكهم إلأى ملكه.فأردت أن احقق تلك الرسالة لتكون مرجعا تاريخيا للباحثين في تاريخ المنطقة. فقد جاء هذا الكتاب كتحيق لرسالة زعماء الصوما إلى الشيخ سلطان بن صقر القاسمي في عام 1837م ، حيث ذكر سمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي ، التالي كمقدمة الكتاب:
كان من ضمن المخطوطات التي في حوزتي، رسالة زعماء الصومال إلى الشيخ سلطان بن صقر القاسمي ،يطلبون منه فيها أن يتملك عليهم،ويضم ملكهم إلأى ملكه.فأردت أن احقق تلك الرسالة لتكون مرجعا تاريخيا للباحثين في تاريخ المنطقة. فقدمت لذلك التحقيق تمهيدا تاريخيا لمنطقة الصومال ظو وبينت الاسباب التي دعت زعماء الصومال لكتابة تلك الرسالة،وعرضت المخطوطة مصورة ومكتوبة بخط واضح لما لخطها وأسلوبها من جمال.
وختمت التحقيق بخاتمة تبين أسباب تقاعس الشيخ سلطان بن صقر القاسمي عنتنفيذ رغبة زعماء الصومال.
