Book Description
يحوي هذا الكتاب روايات يمتزج فيها الواقع بالخيال العلمي في أحداث تبدو حقيقية. تتناول قصة (الكارثة) زلزال القاهرة عام 1992 المدمر لعشرة آلاف بناء، والمضرّ بمئات الآلاف من الأبنية، بخسائر كثيرة لإهمال موظفي الأرصاد. ويفقد موظف مسكين دمرت داره ثلاثة أولاد، ويستخرج من بين الحطام ولداه الآخران وزوجته بكسور في العظام، وتزيح الجبس عن كتفها وترضعه، وتعالجه المستشفى ليتابع الحياة.
وتحكي قصة "في ليل الصحراء الغامض" أيضاً تعرض سائق شاحنة في ليل ماطر إلى دخولها ضمن كثبان من الرمال في الصحراء، وتهاجمه الذئاب فيتخلص منها بأضواء سيارته، ويظنه رجال متخلفون ساحراً بسيارته، ويناقشهم فتأمرهم الأميرة بدفع السيارة إلى الأمام فينقذونه، ويتفقدهم فيختفون في قصة أشبه بالحلم، حدثت يقيناً، دون تفسير يعرفه المنطق العلمي.
وتعرض قصة "ذاكرة رجل آخر" مشاجرة حول سعر صحن فول بين بائع شاب جوال، ورجل كهل، ويضرب البائع رأس الكهل، ويتستر بطل القصة عن الجريمة أمام الشرطة، ويعالج الكهل في المستشفى فيصحو حتى ساعة موته بذاكرة أخرى، ذاكرة البائع الجوال، الذي توارى في بيته وانهار فمات من تأنيب ضميره، ويتزوج البطل من ابنة الكهل. تنطوي القصص الثلاث على أحداث وجدانية وعاطفية شيقة.
