يتوقُ كثيرٌ مِن الأفرادِ الذين يبدأونَ مشاريعَهم الخاصَّةَ إلى الحصولِ على وصفةٍ تفصيليَّةٍ أو مجموعةٍ محدَّدةٍ من الخطواتِ أو التعليماتِ لاتِّباعها من أجلِ تحقيقِ أهدافِهم. غير أنَّ الحقيقةَ هيَ أنَّه لا يوجدُ شيءٌ من هذا القبيل. بدلاً من ذلك هناك طريقةُ تفكيرٍ تُمَكِّنُ المرءَ مِن التعاملِ مع حالاتٍ متنوِّعةٍ وكثيرةٍ كما تُمكِّنُه من الإفادِة من الفرصِ الكثيرةِ التي تظهر يتوقُ كثيرٌ مِن الأفرادِ الذين يبدأونَ مشاريعَهم الخاصَّةَ إلى الحصولِ على وصفةٍ تفصيليَّةٍ أو مجموعةٍ محدَّدةٍ من الخطواتِ أو التعليماتِ لاتِّباعها من أجلِ تحقيقِ أهدافِهم. غير أنَّ الحقيقةَ هيَ أنَّه لا يوجدُ شيءٌ من هذا القبيل. بدلاً من ذلك هناك طريقةُ تفكيرٍ تُمَكِّنُ المرءَ مِن التعاملِ مع حالاتٍ متنوِّعةٍ وكثيرةٍ كما تُمكِّنُه من الإفادِة من الفرصِ الكثيرةِ التي تظهرُ أمامَهُ وحولَه.
إنَّ التمتُّع بالموهبة قد شَكَّل منعطفًا رئيسيًّا في مسيرة ثمانيةِ مشاريعَ صغيرةٍ نفَّذها ‘‘نورم برودسكي’’ (Norm Brodsky) في مسيرة حياته العمليَّة. وهو يستعرضُ هذا النَّمطَ من التفكيرِ في عمودهِ الشهريّ في مجلة (Inc. Magazine) ، وهو عمودٌ يكتُبُه بالاشتراك مع ‘‘بو بيرلينغهام’’ (Bo Berlingham) ويحظى بشعبيَّةٍ واسعةٍ. وفي هذا الكتاب، يقدِّم نورم وبو لأصحابِ المشاريعِ الصغيرةِ أفكارًا خاصَّةً بكيفيَّة التعاملِ مع مختلَفِ الظروفِ والحالاتِ الدقيقة، وهما يقومان بذلك من خلال تقديم نصائحَ عمليِّةٍ وواقعيَّةٍ، وهذه عيِّنةٌ من النصائح:
- تابع الأرقام: هذه أفضلُ طريقةٍ لتَلَمُّسِ المشاكلِ قَبل استفحالها.
- حافِظْ على التركيز على الهدف الحقيقيّ، إذ أنَّه من السهل جدًّا الانحرافُ عن الهدف نتيجةً للانشغال بقضايا هامشيَّة.
- الربحُ الإجماليُّ هو أهمُّ عنصرٍ منفردٍ في أيِّ مشروعٍ جديد.
- المبيعاتُ ليست بأهميَّة النقود، والنقودُ هي ما تحتاجُه للبقاء.
- لا تقترب كثيرًا من المشكلة وإِلا فأنَّكَ ستَفقِدُ القُدرةَ على رؤيةِ الأشياءِ وفقًا لأهمِّيتِها النسبيَّة.
إِنَّ نورم وبو وباستخدامِهم أمثلةً حيةً من خبرة نورم التي تزيدُ عن ثلاثين عامًا، وبالنصائحِ التي قدَّمها نورم لعددٍ كبيرٍ مِن الأفراد على مدى سنوات، يثبتان أن الحِذْقَ والبصيرةَ في مجال الأعمال يُمكِن أَن يكونا في متناول يدِ أيِّ مستثمر.

على أن تَمتُّع المرء بقدْرٍ وافرٍ من الحِذْق والفِطنة ليس ضمانًا أكيدًا للنجاح، وإنَّما هو عاملٌ يؤدِّي إلى تحسين الفرص بشكلٍ كبير. إنَّ مُكتَسباتِك من الفرص المختلفة تَفُوق خسائرَك بشكلٍ كبير، وكُلَّما طال صمودُك في الميدان زادت فرصُك للوصول إلى القمة.
