Sayyid ʿAli Ḥusaynī Khāminiʼī (Arabic: سید علی حسینی خامنهای) (b. 1939) also known as "Ayatollah Khamenei", is among Shi'a Marja's and the second leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Before being elected as the leader in 1989, he was president for two terms and a member of parliament for a short period. He was also chosen as the Friday Prayer leader of Tehran by Imam Khomeini. Before the Islam Sayyid ʿAli Ḥusaynī Khāminiʼī (Arabic: سید علی حسینی خامنهای) (b. 1939) also known as "Ayatollah Khamenei", is among Shi'a Marja's and the second leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Before being elected as the leader in 1989, he was president for two terms and a member of parliament for a short period. He was also chosen as the Friday Prayer leader of Tehran by Imam Khomeini. Before the Islamic Revolution of Iran, he was among active clerics in Mashhad.
Ayatollah Khamenei's authored or translated some works, the most comprehensive one authored by him is Tarh-i kulli-yi andisha-yi Islami dar Qur'an (the general scheme of the Islamic thought in Qur'an). And Solh-i Imam Hasan (a) is his most famous translation. Moreover his speeches have been compiled in a comprehensive work called Hadith-i wilayat. Several other books have also been compiled and published about his speeches and written messages in different topics.
His fatwa against insulting Sunnis' respected personalities is among his most famous and effective fatwas in the Islamic world. The concepts of "Tahajum-i farhangi" (cultural invasion) and "Bidari-yi Islami" (Islamic awakening) are among the concepts that entered Iranian political and social literature following his speeches and emphasis.
Ayatollah Khamenei is knowledgeable in literature and has also composed some poems and his pen name is "Amin". Contemporary history is another field of his studies and interest areas

﴿وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَاوَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ﴾
لعلّنا كثيراً ما قرأنا هذه الآية المباركة، أو تردّدت في أسماعنا عند كلّ زفاف، ولعلّنا فكّرنا أيضاً في معناها وتفسيرها، ولكن كلام الله بحر لا ينفد، وقعره عمق لا يدرك، وكلّ مَن دخل فيه خرج بح المقدمة

لعلّنا كثيراً ما قرأنا هذه الآية المباركة، أو تردّدت في أسماعنا عند كلّ زفاف، ولعلّنا فكّرنا أيضاً في معناها وتفسيرها، ولكن كلام الله بحر لا ينفد، وقعره عمق لا يدرك، وكلّ مَن دخل فيه خرج بحلّة جديدة. ولو سلّطنا الضوء في هذه الآية على كلمة " مودّة ورحمة " لوجدنا أنّ بناء الأسرة كما يريده الله سبحانه لا بدّ أن يكون على هذين الركنين العظيمين، وإنّ أيّ أسرة تفقد أساس المودّة أو أساس الرحمة تُهدّد بالتدمير، ولم تبق أسرة، وتتحوّل إلى علاقة ماديّة بين الزوجين، أو علاقة تسلّط وسيطرة من طرف على طرف، بينما نلاحظ أنّ الأسرة الّتي تسودها المودّة، يبذل فيها الزوج أغلى ما عنده لزوجه لا لشيء ماديّ، ولا يريد منه أجراً أو جزاءً، وإنّما فقط لأنّه يحبّه، بل قد تترقّى هذه المودّة عبر المعاشرة،بمرور الوقت، لتصبح العلاقة هي علاقة الرحمة والأنس، لا كما يظنّ بعض الناس من أنّ الزواج "مقبرة الحب ّ"، كلّا، الزواج المبنيّ على المودّة والرحمة لا يكون مقبرة الحبّ، بل يصبح الزوج لا يستطيع العيش من دون زوجه ولو للحظات.
وقد تؤدّي الظروف إلى مرض أحد الزوجين مرضاً عضالاً، أو تصيبه عاهة جسديّة، فالزواج المبنيّ على الرحمة لا يتخلّى فيه الزوج عن زوجه المصاب، مهما كلّفته الإصابة، لأنّه يتعامل معه معاملة الرحمة. فالرحمة أرقى وأسمى وأوسع بكثير من مفهوم الحبّ.
هكذا بنى الإسلام العلاقة الزوجيّة، وهكذا أسّس الأسرة، ولأجل أن تكون أُسرنا الحبيبة في مجتمعنا تنعم بالدفء والمودّة والسعادة. اخترنا أهمّ النصائح التي كان كان يقدّمها وليّ أمر المسلمين السيّد عليّ الخامنئيّ دام ظله، للزوجين قبل عقد زواجهما، ليبنيا حياتهما على أساس الوعي المعيشيّ.
والإدراك لهذا البناء الجديد، ولهذه الأسرة الواعدة.
على أمل أن يكون هذا العمل مساهماً في الهدف الذي نرنو إليه، وهو سعادة الزوجين في كلّ بيت، وعلى أمل أن ننال بهذا الجهد رضى صاحب العصر والزمان عجل الله تعالى فرجه الشريف.
