ما نحاول عمله في هذا الكتيب هو تقديم جوانب من علم النفس بطريقةٍ مبسطةٍ جداً مع الأمثلة من واقع الحياة اليومية محاولين تحقيق ذلك التوازن. وسيلاحظ القارئ أن بعض هذه الجوانب تتناول الإدراك أو العمليات العقلية. وقد يستغرب البعض ؛ إذ أن الفكرة التي يحملها رجل الشارع عن علم النفس هو أنه علم يدرس من لديهم اضطرابات نفسية وعقلية فقط ، بل وحتى يختلط عليهم الأمر بين من يدرس علم النفس والطبيب النفسي .
