سبعة من بناة الصروح الشامخة يرصد المؤلف ملامح شخصياتهم وعبر أعمالهم التي تركت بصمات واضحة على أدب القرن الذي شهد ولادتهم. وهم بحق بناة للعالم و من أعمدة الفكر والأدب لثلاثة شاءت أقدارهم أن يكونوا علامات بارزة في القرن التاسع عشر. هولدرلن القادم من قرى العصور القديمة في (لاوفن) الألماني المرهف الذي شغله الحنين إلى الوطن دوما الذي دخل القرن التاسع عشر وهو في الثلاثين من عمره سبعة من بناة الصروح الشامخة يرصد المؤلف ملامح شخصياتهم وعبر أعمالهم التي تركت بصمات واضحة على أدب القرن الذي شهد ولادتهم. وهم بحق بناة للعالم و من أعمدة الفكر والأدب لثلاثة شاءت أقدارهم أن يكونوا علامات بارزة في القرن التاسع عشر. هولدرلن القادم من قرى العصور القديمة في (لاوفن) الألماني المرهف الذي شغله الحنين إلى الوطن دوما الذي دخل القرن التاسع عشر وهو في الثلاثين من عمره فكانت السنوات الأخيرة الحافلة بالآلام قد أكملت منه أكبر أعمالها. أما دوستويفسكي فالحديث عنه يأخذ بعدا آخر لأن اتساع مدى هذا الرجل وجبروته يقتضيان مقياساً جديداً فسحره بالغ الغرابة وأعماله مترعة بالأسرار، يقوم عالمه بين الموت والجنون وبين الحلم والواقع والواضح المتوقد. كان دوستويفسكي وحيداً تشي رسائله ببؤس الحياة وعذاب الجسد لكنه تحول إلى أسطورة إلى بطل وغدا قديسا يشع كيانه معنى خالداً، إنساناً وأديباً وسياسياً. وأما بلزاك المولود في عام 1799وقد شهد في وقت ديكنز الانقلاب الهائل في القيم، المعنوية منها والمادية على حد سواء. ولقد كان العالم من حوله زوبعة.
