كنت أحب على الدوام أن أمشي حافية القدمين، عندما كنت طفلة لم أرتدِ الحذاء في المنزل قط، ولو كان الأمر لي لاستمتعت بالسير حافية في الشارع. كنت أشعر آنئاك في داخلي برضا عميق. غير أن هذا الشعور سرعان ما تبدد من نفسه، عندما وصلنا إلى صالة المطار، حيث وجدت نفسي مضطرة لارتداء الحذاء. لم نتأخر كثيرًا في المطار، خصوصا وأن العجوز الألمانية كانت على وشك الانهيار من شدة الإعياء. وبعد كنت أحب على الدوام أن أمشي حافية القدمين، عندما كنت طفلة لم أرتدِ الحذاء في المنزل قط، ولو كان الأمر لي لاستمتعت بالسير حافية في الشارع. كنت أشعر آنئاك في داخلي برضا عميق. غير أن هذا الشعور سرعان ما تبدد من نفسه، عندما وصلنا إلى صالة المطار، حيث وجدت نفسي مضطرة لارتداء الحذاء. لم نتأخر كثيرًا في المطار، خصوصا وأن العجوز الألمانية كانت على وشك الانهيار من شدة الإعياء. وبعد تفحص وثائق السفر ركبنا حافلة المطار متجهين نحو المدينة. كنت أشعر من خلال الظلام بأن المناظر المحيطة قد تكون جميلة جدًا، وكنت أحاول في بعض الأحيان، من خلال ظلال الأشجار المرتسمة على الأرض، أن أعرف فصائلها وأسماءها، كما كنت أخرج رأسي مسرعة من النافذة محاولة تأمل المناظر البعيدة، وأخيرًا، انتهى الشارع الطويل الذي يربط المطار بالمدينة، وترجلنا من الحافلة أمام فندق فخم ربما كان اسمه (ريزيدانس) انزعجت من اضطرارنا لقضاء الليل في مكان كهذا، كنت سأشعر بسعادة أكبر لو قيل لي: " اذهبي إلى شاطيء البحر ونامي على الرمال.
