هذا الكتاب "تاريخ الحروب الصليبية" عمل علمي كبير لويليم الصوري الذي يعرفه طلاب الدراسات التاريخية كأحد أعظم المصادر في تاريخ هذه الحروب. وهو يعالج الفترة التى امتدت من عام 1094 - 1184 والفترة التى تليها أى على مدى قرن ونصف من الزمان والتى اخذت تتدفق فيها الهجرات الشعبية المسلحة المتسربلة بمسموح الدين والصليب، وهى التى عرفت بأسم الحملات الصليبية. يحتل الكتاب مكانة بارزة نظرا لمؤلفة الذي عاصر هذه الحروب الصليبية وعكف على كتابة تاريخها بناءا على اقتراح الملك "عموري" وهو المؤلف- فيها شاهد عيان، وكذلك نظرا لما يمثله الكتاب من رؤية مختلفة عن رؤية المؤرخين العرب والمسلمين.
