بلغت مؤامرات التطرف والإرهاب في مصر معدلات غير مسبوقة خلال السنة الأخيرة. ولم تعد هذه الظاهرة مجرد تهديد للدولة والنظام الحاكم، بل أصبحت تهدد المجتمع المصري كله، سواء في بنيته الداخلية أو في اقتصاده أو أمنه الاجتماعي والسياسي ومكتسباته الثقافية والفكرية، وكذلك انجازاته الاقتصادية والمادية. ولا تقل الحرب التي يشنها المتطرفون والإرهابيون ضراوة عن أي حرب خاضتها مصر مع أعدائها بلغت مؤامرات التطرف والإرهاب في مصر معدلات غير مسبوقة خلال السنة الأخيرة. ولم تعد هذه الظاهرة مجرد تهديد للدولة والنظام الحاكم، بل أصبحت تهدد المجتمع المصري كله، سواء في بنيته الداخلية أو في اقتصاده أو أمنه الاجتماعي والسياسي ومكتسباته الثقافية والفكرية، وكذلك انجازاته الاقتصادية والمادية. ولا تقل الحرب التي يشنها المتطرفون والإرهابيون ضراوة عن أي حرب خاضتها مصر مع أعدائها الخارجيين هذا القرن. بل ربما كانت هذه الحرب أشد ضراوة، لأن أحد أطرافها هم أبناء عم لنا، أعماهم التطرف: واستهدف عنفهم أبناء لنا في أجهزة الأمن، أو أخوة لنا من المدنيين المسالمين العزل، مسلمين وأقباطًا.
إن ما تمر به مصر الآن هو مأساة إنسانية وثقافية وحضارية، وكارثة اقتصادية وسياسية ولذلك أصبح من الضروري أن ينتفض المثقفون المصريون، ومؤسسات مجتمعهم المدني، للوقوف في وجه التطرف والإرهاب لمحاصرتها واحتوائها، تمهيدًا لاقتلاعها تمامًا.
من أجل هذا تصدر الهيئة المصرية العامة للكتاب بيت المثقفين المصريين هذه السلسة للوقوف أمام هذه الظاهرة بالفكر المستنير والكلمة الحق الشريفة.
