قبل وفاته بعامين تقريبا، أصدر المستشرق الفرنسي ألفريد-لويس دي بريمار سنة 2004 آخر كتاب له. وهو يمثّل، على ما أعتقد، عصارة ما توصّل إليه في أبحاثه ودراساته التي امتدّت طوال عقود عديدة حول القرآن ومراحل تشكّل الإسلام الأولى. وقد سبق وترجمتُ له عدّة مقالات نشرت في موقعي "الأوان" و"الحوار المتمدّن". أذكر منها على سبيل المثال : "نبوّة وزنا"، "المقاربة التاريخية للش مقدمة المترجم
قبل وفاته بعامين تقريبا، أصدر المستشرق الفرنسي ألفريد-لويس دي بريمار سنة 2004 آخر كتاب له. وهو يمثّل، على ما أعتقد، عصارة ما توصّل إليه في أبحاثه ودراساته التي امتدّت طوال عقود عديدة حول القرآن ومراحل تشكّل الإسلام الأولى. وقد سبق وترجمتُ له عدّة مقالات نشرت في موقعي "الأوان" و"الحوار المتمدّن". أذكر منها على سبيل المثال : "نبوّة وزنا"، "المقاربة التاريخية للشخصيات الدينية : محمد" و "قراءات وكتابات". كما أشير هنا إلى أن رابطة العقليين العرب ترجمت ونشرت أشهر مؤلفاته Les fondations de l’Islam الذي صدر في طبعته الفرنسية سنة 2002. كما خصّصت مؤخرا مجلّة Revue des mondes musulmans et de la Méditerrannée التي تصدرها جامعة بروفانس في فرنسا، عددا مُهدى لروحه سنة 2011 بعنوان : « Ecriture de l’histoire et processus de canonisation dans les premiers siècles del’islam ».
وحتّى أواصل التعريف بما أنتجه هذا المفكّر، اخترت تقديم ترجمة كاملة لكتابه صغير الحجم، عظيم الفائدة « Aux origines du Coran » للقارئ العربي، وذلك لأنه من ناحية نصّ قصير نوعا ما (143 صفحة)، ولكنّه من ناحية أخرى نصّ مركّز يستعرض فيه المؤلّف كلّ الإشكاليات التي تثيرها الدراسات العلمية الحديثة بخصوص تدوين وجمع القرآن في بدايات الإسلام. ويحتوي الكتاب على خمسة فصول سوف أنشرها في عدّة حلقات متتالية. وقد فضّلت أن يكون نشرها في موقعنا المتميّز "الحوار المتمدن" تعميما للفائدة من حيث وفرة عدد القراء وكذلك التجاوب المثمر والحوار البناء الذي استطاع هذا الموقع السّخي طيلة هذا الوقت أن يوفّره من حيث غزارة المادة المقَّدمة وخصوبتها وتنوّعها.
لقد حاولت قدر المستطاع الرجوع إلى المصادر الأصلية العربية التي اعتمدها دي بريمار في كتابه هذا ووضتعها في مواقع الإستشهاد في متن النص أو في الهوامش. كما أضفت في الهوامش استشهادات من المصادر العربية وتعاليق شخصية للتّوضيع أو لإثراء الموضوع. بطبيعة الحال إشارات المؤلّف إلى الصفحات في الهوامش تتطابق مع الطبعة الفرنسية وبالمقابل فضّلنا ترقيما متسلسلا للهوامش بما فيها الهوامش التي أضفناها من عندما مع تمييزها عن غيرها من هوامش المؤلّف بإضافة عبارة المترجم بين معقوفين.
