محمد الصادق إبراهيم عرجون وُلد في بلدة إدفو في سنة 1903 م الموافق 1321 هـ، وتخرج في الأزهر الشريف عام 1929 م ونال شهادة التخصص سنة 1935 م وعين مدرساً بالمعاهد الأزهرية حتى أصبح شيخاً لمعهد دسوق الديني، ثم شيخاً لمعهد أسيوط الديني, ثم شيخاً لمعهد الأسكندرية وعميداً لعلمائها, ثم كلية اللغة العربية، ثم كلية أصول الدين التي أصبح عميداً لها عام 1964 م, ورحل للعمل في الكويت والسودان والج محمد الصادق إبراهيم عرجون وُلد في بلدة إدفو في سنة 1903 م الموافق 1321 هـ، وتخرج في الأزهر الشريف عام 1929 م ونال شهادة التخصص سنة 1935 م وعين مدرساً بالمعاهد الأزهرية حتى أصبح شيخاً لمعهد دسوق الديني، ثم شيخاً لمعهد أسيوط الديني, ثم شيخاً لمعهد الأسكندرية وعميداً لعلمائها, ثم كلية اللغة العربية، ثم كلية أصول الدين التي أصبح عميداً لها عام 1964 م, ورحل للعمل في الكويت والسودان والجماهيرية الليبية والمدينة المنورة وجامعة أم القرى بمكة المكرمة, وفي كل ذلك أنتج العلامة محمد الصادق عرجون كتباً جعلته في مصاف العلماء الكبار والمؤرخين العظام, حيث اهتم بإبراز قادة الفكر الإسلامي عندما رأى البيئة الثقافية قد أدارت النقاش حول مفهوم قادة الفكر بعيداً عن الدائرة الإسلامية, فنراه يقول: (فلم يشر أحد إلى تتابع الدورة الثقافية شرقا وغربا, وإلى أن هذه الدورة قد انتهت إلى الفكر الإسلامي فأحدثت أثرها القوي في تاريخ الفكر الإنساني, فقلت في نفسي إن الضرورة ملزمة بالحديث عن قادة الإسلام وأثرهم في تحرير الفكر الإنساني, وإذا كان عظماء الصدر الأول من رجالات الإسلام قد جمعوا بين السياسة والفكر أي أنهم أخضعوا الفكر النظري إلى الميدان العلمي فصدروا في أحكامهم واتجاهاتهم عن شريعة ذات هدف إنساني فإن زعماء هذا العهد قادة فكر بهذا المعنى), ومن هنا وبهذا الأسلوب الرصين نرى الأستاذ محمد رجب البيومي يصف العلامة عرجون (بالأسلوب الرجل, ففي أسلوبه ما في شخصيته من فحولة وشجاعة وقوة, فلقد كان الأستاذ ذا حمية مخلصة وغيرة ملتهبة تلمسها في حديثه كما تراها في بريق عينيه وتوهج ملامحه).
وانتقل إلى رحمة الله في سنة 1981 م الموافق 1400 هــ
