Islam memposisikannya sesuai fitrah diciptakannya dan mendapat kedudukan yang mulia. Peranannya menjadi tumpuan bagi proses regenerasi agar tercipta manusia-manusia shalih.
Namun, seiring dengan perjalanan waktu, wanita telah melenceng dari fitrahnya. Kondisinya kinimenyedihkan dan berubah menjadi fenomena palsu, tradisi baru dan perangai yang keras. Kondisi ini telah menguasai tidak sedikit dari kaum wanita, kecuali mereka yang dilindungi oleh Allah Azza Wa Jalla. Akibatnya, wanita yang teguh beragama jumlahnya jarang. Tugas-tugasnya sebagai wanita kini terabaikan, mereka tidak lagi menjadi ibu bagi anak-anaknya atau menjadi istri bagi suaminya, tetapi lebih mengutamakan keinginan (nafsu) pribadinya. Inilah fenomena wanita spons yang menjadi sorotan dalam buku ini.
