لم يكن الخليج بمعزل عن تداعيات الربيع العربي، وقد شهدت الكويت حراكاً واسعاً واستثنائياً وذا طبيعة خاصة، كونه الأوسع في الخليج من ناحية أعداد النزول إلى الشارع، وهو أيضاً ذو طبيعة إصلاحية لا ثورية، ولم تكن له دوافع طائفية. وعلى الرغم من أهمية كل ذلك إلا أن هذا الحراك لم يتم توثيقه، وقد تكون كثيرٌ من تفاصيله عرضة للضياع.
من هنا جاءت محاولة طارق المطيري في توثيق هذه التجربة، ل لم يكن الخليج بمعزل عن تداعيات الربيع العربي، وقد شهدت الكويت حراكاً واسعاً واستثنائياً وذا طبيعة خاصة، كونه الأوسع في الخليج من ناحية أعداد النزول إلى الشارع، وهو أيضاً ذو طبيعة إصلاحية لا ثورية، ولم تكن له دوافع طائفية. وعلى الرغم من أهمية كل ذلك إلا أن هذا الحراك لم يتم توثيقه، وقد تكون كثيرٌ من تفاصيله عرضة للضياع.
من هنا جاءت محاولة طارق المطيري في توثيق هذه التجربة، ليس فقط فيما يخص مرحلة الربيع العربي، بل استطاع وبمهارة، ومن خلال حضوره في معظم الفعاليات السياسية، أن يدوّن بدايات الحراك السياسي والنزول إلى الشارع بعد مرحلة الغزو العراقي للكويت، والذي تشكّل مع دخول الإنترنت إلى الخليج في منتصف تسعينيات القرن العشرين، مروراً بمراحل مهمة من التاريخ السياسي الكويتي الحديث: "نبيها خمس، النزول إلى الشارع، الاستجوابات، ساحة الإرادة، حملة إرحل، التشكيلات الشبابية الجديدة، مواجهات الشارع، المحاكمات، الاعتقالات، كرامة وطن والمسيرات الضخمة" والكثير من المحطات المهمة الموثّقة بين دفتَيْ هذا الكتاب.
كما ويمثّل هذا الكتاب دعوة من المؤلف والناشر لكل المراقبين والناشطين السياسيين كي يسهموا بدورهم في تدوين تجاربهم ورؤاهم الخاصة للحراك السياسي في الكويت والخليج، من أجل تاريخٍ مكتوب وموثّق تستفيد منه الأجيال القادمة وتُراكم
