هذا الكتاب إعادة اكتشاف صورة شعب وتاريخ مرحلة من خلال رجل، ولذلك فإنه يتجاوز السيرة، ومن هنا أهميته، لأن الفترة التي ينتزعها من الماضي، ويعيد رسمها بكل التفاصيل الصغيرة المتوارية تشكل ذاكرة جددية، وإضافة لا نعثر عليها في أي مكان آخر، خاصة وأنها تتسم بتلك العفوية المليئة بالصدق والشجاعة، وكأن الحياة تتشكل أمام أعيننا مرة أخرى.
قد يغضب هذا الكتاب بعض الناس لبعض الوقت، لكنه بالتأكيد، سيفرح الكثيرين ولوقت طويل، لأنه قال لهم ما يجب أن يقال عن أنفسهم وعن الآخرين، وما يجب أن يعرفوه، لكي يستطيعوا الحكم على الماضي.. ورؤية المستقبل أيضاً.
