شاعر وكاتب وروائي جزائري أصله من منطقة القبائل. ولد بمدينة قسنطينة عاصمة الشرق الجزائري وفيها تعلم. ثم سافر إلى فرنسا ونال الإجازة في الحقوق ولما عاد أصدر مجلة " التقدم" وشارك في الثورة الجزائرية. تميز إنتاجه بنفحة فلسفية. له : " الشقاء في خطر" و" الإنطباع الأخير"و ديوان " أنصتي وأنا أناديك " و "سأهبك غزالة" و "ليس فى رصيف الأزهار من يجيب" وكلها بالفرنسية.

Malek Haddad wrote for French and Algerian weeklies and magazines during the Algerian War of Independence. His first published book was a collection of poetry, Le Malheur en danger (1956; “Trouble in Danger”). A second collection, Écoute et je t'appelle (1961; “Listen and I Will Call”), was introduced by the essay “Les Zéros tournent en rond” (“The Zeros Turn Round in a Circle”).
Haddad wrote four novels: La Dernière Impression (1958; “Last Impression”), Je t'offrirai une gazelle (1959; “I Will Offer You a Gazelle”), L'Élève et la leçon (1960; “The Pupil and the Lesson”), and Le Quai aux fleurs ne répond plus (1961; “The Flowers Quay No Longer Answers”). Following Algerian independence Haddad continued to write for periodicals until 1968, when he became director of culture at the Ministry of Culture and Information. Among the dominant themes of his works are the fatherland, exile, and happiness.

تصدر هذه المجلة لأول مرة و الآمال تغمر أصحابها في أن تكون مرآة لأدبائنا الناشئين ينشرون فيها انتاجهم الفكري سواء كانوا قصاصين أو كتاب مسرحيات.
و (آمال) و هو اسم المجلة -تريد أن تكون واسطة تسمح للأدباء أن يبلغوا للقراء ما جادت به قريحتهم في بداية حياتهم الأدبية.
خطوات اولى يخطو بها الكاتب في وجل و حيرة, و لكنها خطوات يراها القارىء و يحكم عليها, و لا بد أن تتبعها خطوات أخرى أك تصدر هذه المجلة لأول مرة و الآمال تغمر أصحابها في أن تكون مرآة لأدبائنا الناشئين ينشرون فيها انتاجهم الفكري سواء كانوا قصاصين أو كتاب مسرحيات.
و (آمال) و هو اسم المجلة -تريد أن تكون واسطة تسمح للأدباء أن يبلغوا للقراء ما جادت به قريحتهم في بداية حياتهم الأدبية.
خطوات اولى يخطو بها الكاتب في وجل و حيرة, و لكنها خطوات يراها القارىء و يحكم عليها, و لا بد أن تتبعها خطوات أخرى أكثر صيلنة و أدق تعبيرا...
و تريد (آمال) أن تكون كذالك منبرا لكتابنا و شعرائنا -السابقين- حتى يكونوا قدوة للناشئين يسايرون معا موكب أدبنا الناهض.
و قد وافتنا بعد الاعلان الذي نشرناه, عدة قصص و قصائد ننشر البعض منها في هذا العدد, و هذا إن دل على شيء فإنما يدل على إقبال أدبائنا على الكتابة و النشر مما يجعلنا نتفاءل و نأمل...
و رجاؤنا أن تكون (آمال) صورة حية لهذا الأدب الناهض و تعبيرا صادقا عن كياننا و واقعنا الوطني و مثلنا العليا.
و من الجدير بالذكر أن نلاحظ أن الغالب من النصوص التي تردنا, تتناول مواضيع لها صلة متينة بثورتنا التحريرية و بتشييد وطننا; و لا غرابة في ذالك إذ أن الجيل الصاعد مشبع بتلك الروح المتدفقة التي شاهدها و هو طفل صغير...
و (آمال) تحمل معها آمال هذا الجيل و تأبى الا أن تشارك في تحقيقها.
