منذ إطلالة "العربي" الأولى في شهر ديسمبر عام 1958م ،أي منذ حوالي ثماني وخمسين سنة وهي في سبيلها الذي اخطته لنفسها كمدرسة قائدة للفكر والثقافة والأدب والفنون. لقد كتب رئيس التحرير في ذلك العدد غير المنسي: "باسم العروبة خالصة، بحتة محضة، نخط أول سطر يقع عليه البصر من هذه الجملة الوليدة ... إن مجلة العربي لهذا الوطن العربي كله... وهي لكل مايتمخض عن الفكرة العربية من معان. فهي منذ إطلالة "العربي" الأولى في شهر ديسمبر عام 1958م ،أي منذ حوالي ثماني وخمسين سنة وهي في سبيلها الذي اخطته لنفسها كمدرسة قائدة للفكر والثقافة والأدب والفنون. لقد كتب رئيس التحرير في ذلك العدد غير المنسي: "باسم العروبة خالصة، بحتة محضة، نخط أول سطر يقع عليه البصر من هذه الجملة الوليدة ... إن مجلة العربي لهذا الوطن العربي كله... وهي لكل مايتمخض عن الفكرة العربية من معان. فهي ضد الجهل ومع المعرفة. وهي ضد المرض ومع الصحة ومن الصحة صحة العقول . وهي ضد الفقر ومع الغنى ووسيلتها إلى ذلك الثقافة تنشرها والوعي تحييه." وبعد كل هذه العقود من السنين ترى "العربي" في نفسها وفي آمالها العريضة أن تبقى ساهرة لنذورها ووعودها القديمة طافحة بالرجاء لتكون المعرفة وتعميقها في عقول الناس وفي أفئدتهم هي الأمانة الكبرى في عنقها وخصوصا بعد أن تأكد للقاصي والداني أن المعرفة ولاشيء غيرها هي التي تبني الأوطان والمواطنين.
