فالتاريخ الإسلامي كما، يعتقد بعض المؤرخين لم يكتب بأيدي المسلمين, والبعض الآخر يدعي أن المدؤنات الإسلامية قد تكون خزقت وذلك أو أتلفت, وذلك لمسيرة الإسلام الأولى التي تعرضت لعواصف سياسية عدة, داخ هذا الكتاب الذي، نضعه اليوم بين يدي القارئ الكريم, يتناول موضوعأ حاسأ لم يتطرق له الباحثين إلا لمامأ, وأكثر الظن كان الباحثون يتحاشون الخوض في غمار هذا الموضوع لكثرة الإشكالات فيه.
فالتاريخ الإسلامي كما، يعتقد بعض المؤرخين لم يكتب بأيدي المسلمين, والبعض الآخر يدعي أن المدؤنات الإسلامية قد تكون خزقت وذلك أو أتلفت, وذلك لمسيرة الإسلام الأولى التي تعرضت لعواصف سياسية عدة, داخلية وخارجية إلا أن هناك حقيقة تثبتها هذه الدراسة، بأن للسريان فضل وأهمية في تدوين التاريخ الإسلامي ، والباحث هنا يدافع في مكان عن هذه التواريخ ، وأحيانأ يشكك فيها في مواضع أو نقولات معينة.
والتاريخ عبارة عن منظومة معقدة, يعيش الإنسان إسقاطاتها وتبعاتها في عصور لاحقة من هنا تبرز أهمية هذا الكتاب.
والمؤلف بذل جهودآ كبيرا في البحث والمقابلة بين النصوص ، واستلهم من حوالى مئتي مصدر, ولكن إشادة المختصين بأهمية البحث العلمية شجعتنا على نشر الكتاب .
هذا العمل في الأصل, هو رسالة ماجستير في التاريخ السرياني، أعدت في جامعة القديس يوسف في معهد الآداب الشرقية - بيروت, وقد أشرف على هذه الرسالة الأب سليم دكاش اليسوعي , وقد نالت درجة جيدةجدا مه التنويه.
