• أتم حفظ القرآن الكريم في السابعة من عمره، وله ست من الإخوة وشقيقتان، وكلهم يحفظون القرآن الكريم كله، وقد أشرف والدهم على ذلك، فهو الذي توارث حفظ القرآن عن أبيه عن جده.
• أتم دراسته الإعدادية بمعهد ديروط الديني عام 1967م ثم أتم دراسته الثانوية بمعهد أسيوط الديني عام 1971م وكان من أوائل الثانوية الأزهرية على مستوى الجمهو • مصري الجنسية، ولد بقرية فزارة/ مركز القوصية/ محافظة أسيوط بتاريخ 9/11/1954م.

• أتم دراسته الجامعية بكلية الشريعة والقانون بجامعة الأزهر عام 1976م وقد حصل منها على الإجازة العليا بتقدير: جيد جدا مع مرتبة الشرف، وكان ترتيبه الأول على الخريجين.
• حصل على الماجستير من كلية الشريعة والقانون عام 1980م، ثم على الدكتوراه عام 1985م بتقدير امتياز مع مرتبة الشرف الأولى.
