والحضور الدرامى, فى هذه الرواية, شديد الوضوح, ويتبدى من التركيز على الأحداث وتطورها الدرامى, وعبر تقنية السارد العليم بظواهر الأحداث وبواطنها, يكشف الكاتب جوانب عديدة لوحشية الشر, وطبائع البشر, فى بيئة ريفية غابوية, يتبدى فيها الريف بمنظور جديد, ورغم قتامة هذه البيئة, تبدو الفطرة الإنسانية السامية المضيئة, وهى تغالب أمواج الجحيم البشرى غير أن الواقع الاجتماعى فى ذاته ليس هو المستهدف من منظور هذا العمل الروائى, بل الواقع النفسى الناتج عنه. ويبدو الكاتب كما لو كان مشغولا بإنشاء نص روائى درامى, يجسد ملحمية هذا الصراع الأزلى, الذى تتوهج فيه المشاعر الإنسانية, حتى الذوبان, وتتقطع الأمانى, ليظل الألم والإنسانى متأججا, أبدا.
