لم تعرف البشرية شخصيَّة كُتب عنها مثل ما كُتب عن الرَّسول صلى الله عليه وسلم . ولا يزال هناك من يكتب ويكتب .. كما قال الشَّاعر : كملت محاسنه فلو أهدى السَّنا للبدر عند تمامه لـم يُخسَفِ وعلى تفنُّـن واصفيـه بحسنه يفنى الزَّمان وفيه ما لم يوصَفِ وما عسى أن يقال فيه بعد وصف القرآن الكريم : ﴿ وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴾ . وهل وصفُ الخالق مثل وصف المخلوقين ؟! لا يستوون . ولذلك يقول ابن الفارض رحمه الله : أرى كلَّ مدح في النَّبيِّ مقصِّرا وإنْ بالَـغَ الـمُثِنْي عليه وأكثرا إذا الله أثنى بالَّذي هو أهلـُه عليه فما مقدارُ ما تمدحُ الورى ؟! ثمَّ إنَّ التَّأمُّل والتَّمعُّن في قوله صلى الله عليه وسلم : « إنَّما بعثت لأُتمم مكارم الأخلاق » .. يحرِّك في النُّفوس الاتباع لهديه ، والتَّأسي بشمائله وأخلاقه الشَّريفة . وهذا هو المقصود الأعظم . وهذا الكتاب المبارك غرَّة في جبين ما كتب في شمائل الرَّسول صلى الله عليه وسلم ؛ فمؤلِّفه معروف بحبِّه للجناب النَّبويِّ الشَّريف ، وكلامه خرج من القلب ، وسيجد طريقه إلى القلب . وقد جمع مادَّة الكتاب من متفرِّقات كتب علماء الإسلام ، ورتَّبها أحسن ترتيب ، ونظمها أحسن نظام ، بحيث إِن القارىء لهذا الكتاب كأنَّه يشاهد طلعة ذلك الجناب ، ويرى محاسنه الشَّريفة في كلِّ باب . وإذا كان كمال الإيمان مرتبطاً بالحبِّ لهذا الحبيب صلى الله عليه وسلم .. فإنَّ من طرق ذلك وأعظم أسبابه : المطالعة لهذا الكتاب ؛ لتتعرَّف على شريف أخلاقه ، وأوصافه ، وشمائله ، وسَمْته صلى الله عليه وسلم ، والإكثار من ذلك ؛ فإن من أحبَّ شيئاً .. أكثر من ذكره . صلَّى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه وسلَّم
