انتقل في كتاباته بين عدة أساليب من الرومانسية إلى الواقعية ثم الطبيعية والتعبيرية والرمزية والفرويدية، وترك تأثيرات واضحة على كتاب المسرح في العالم
حصل على جائزة نوبل عام 1934
توفي عام 1936

إنها مسرحية أجمع النقاد على اعتبارها واحدة من أكثر مسرحيات بيراندللو تعبيرًا عن عالم الفن الخاص. ففى هذه المسرحية يقدم بيراندللو شخصية " الدون جوان" التقليدية بما لها من ملامح وخصائص. وتتمثل هذه الشخصية فى ميمو سبيرانتسا، الشاب الثرى المرح اللاهى، الذى رأى أن يتخذ زوجة " ولكن ليس على محمل الجد"؛ خوفًا من المجازفة بحياته التى كاد أن يفقدها فى إحدى غرامياته.
