كتب موراتين هذه المسرحيه، وتم عرضها فى عام 1806. واستمر عرضها لمده سبعه وعشرين يومًا، وقد حدثت فى أثناء عرض هذه المسرحيه حاله من الهياج بسبب هجاء الكاتب ضد النساء المنافقات. وتعتبر «الكلمه للبنت» آخر الأعمال الأصليه التى كتبها موراتين، وهو يعد من أبرز شعراء القرن الثامن عشر، ومن الكتاب المسرحيين الأكثر حظًّا، وقد كان اهتمامه يعكس الواقع فى إسبانيا خلال عصره.
