هل هي قصة حب رومانسية أضفى البعاد والقضبان والإشتياق عليها طعم ونكهة مفتتقدة وسط ركام الماديات. أم هى حدوته لا يمكن لمثل أحداثها أن تلهث خطواتها سوى على أرض فلسطين. هل هى قصة بطولة فى زمن تشتاق فيه الجماهير إلى " بطل" وقيم ومثاليات وثبات ورجولة. أم هى سجل لمراحل فاصلة فى تاريخ القضية الفلسطينية. لم أصنف ما سوف أكتب حين وجدت نفسى أمسك بالقلم كى أدون سطور هذا الكتاب. فتافيت الصورة هذا من ناحية الحدوته نفسها. أما من ناحيتى أنا، فلا أستطيع أن أحدد بالضبط الحالة التى كنت أكتب عبرها، هل كنت كطفل رأى صورة جذبته، وهى صورة على طريقة لعبة الـ "بازل" التى تتطلب وضع كل قطعة من قطعها المفتتة فى مكانها الصحيح لإعادة إظهار الصورة، ثم ما أن بدأت فى جمع "فتافيت" الصورة تمهيدا لوضع كل "فتفوتة" إلى جوار الأخرى حتى اكتشفت أن القطع ليست فقط مفتتة وفى حاجة إلى إعادة ترتيب، إنما هى أيضا متناثرة ولا بد من العثور على ما تبعثر من أجزائها بين مصادر متباعدة.
