أحداث الرواية تدور في فضاء مكاني ممتد بين الاسكندرية والغردقة والسعودية، متناولة مجموعة من المشاكل التي فرضت نفسها على المجتمع خلال الثلاثين عاما الماضية ، وأجبرت الشباب على البحث عن حلول يائسة كلها تيه وغربة عن الذات والوطن . فمنهم(ماجد) الذي وجد في" التطبيع " حلا أخيرا لمواجهة وضعه المتأزم ليقع تحت تأثير راقصة البلشوي "نتاشا "اليهودية ليبدأ رحلة التيه في اسرائيل مستغلا حادث انهيار الحاجز الأمني في رفح ليتسلل إلى اسرائيل . و"طارق" يجد مهربا في الرحيل إلى دولة خليجية ليعيش رحلة التيه بعيدا عن وطنه، و"نادية" تتخلى عن مبادئها وتتزوج زيجة قائمة على المال والسلطة لتنهي أحلامها ما بين مستشفى الامراض النفسية وبيت والدها، ومنهم من يهرب في مراكب الهجرة الغير شرعية ليفقد حياته غرقا .
