يستعرض هذا الكتاب طرقا جديدة في الرسم والتصميم، حيث يعد برنامج اوتوكاد 2002 استمرارا لتطور سلسلة برامج الوتوكاد ، وهو من أقوى برامج الرسم والتصميم الموجود، ويشغل على أحدث الحاسب، كما انه متعدد الاستعمالات إذ يشرح الكتاب طريقة تشغيل البرنامج، ويبين واجهة البرنامج التطبيقية، ثم يستعرض أشرطة الأدوات، مع الإشارة إلى أدوات إدخال الأوامر، كما ويذكر طرق الحصول على معلومات من قائمة المساعدة، إضافة الى أنه يوضح كيف يتم تعديل بيئة الاوتوكاد، ثم يعدد الخطوات المتبعة لفتح رسم موجود أصلا ويشير إلى خطوات حفظ الرسومات وكذلك طريقة إغلاقها بعد ذلك يشرع لبيان كيفية الخروج من هذا البرنامج ومن الأمور الأخرى الهامة التي يبحثها استعمال الأوامر ومتغيرات النظام إذ يشرح كيف يتم انتقال الأمر القائمة، زمن شريط الأدوات، وكيف تلقي الأوامر، ولا يكتفي بهذا العرض، بل يمضي في الحديث عن الاستعمال أنظمة الإحداثيات المستخدمة في برنامج الاوتوكاد كعرض قيم الإحداثيات، وكيف يحدث إدخال قيم الإحداثيات باستخدام أنظمة الإحداثيات وأخيرا يوضح كيف يتم إضافة نصوص إلى الرسم من إنشاء الأبعاد، وتحريرها، وإنشاء الدليل والتذييل.
