يضم الكتاب ثلاثة فصول رئيسية يحتوي كل منها على عدد معين من الأقسام تتدرّج مع المستخدم من تثبيت الأوفيس (ومعه أكسل) في الجهاز إلى عمليات متقدمة ومحترفة في نفس البرنامج. وقد أتت هذه الفصول على الشكل التالي: يشكل الفصل الأول خطوات أساسية للعمل ضمن البرنامج أكسل من خلال أربعة أقسام. تناول القسم الأول منها موضوع تثبيت الأوفيس ضمن جهاز الكومبيوتر، وكيفية تشغيل البرنامج أكسل وإنهاءه. وعرض في القسم الثاني جولة عامة في البرنامج أكسل موضحاً لكل اسم يظهر في نافذته. وتناول القسم الرابع تعرف عام باختصاص البرنامج أكسل وهو الجداول الإلكترونية وفي القسم الرابع عرض لخطوات تطبيقية للعمل ضمن المصنفات. وأما الفصل الثاني فقد عرض لمختلف الأعمال الروتينية التي يحتاجها كل مستخدم للبرنامج أكسل. وبالنسبة للفصل الثالث فقد حصر فيه مقدرات متقدمة للبرنامج أكسل وذلك من خلال ستة أقسام عرض في القسم الأول كيفية استخدام التخطيطات لتحليل البيانات وتحديد اتجاهها من خلال مقدرات البرنامج أكسل في هذا المجال وتناول القسم الثاني ميزة تحليل أخرى في البرنامج أكسل وهي الجداول المحورية والتخطيطات المحورية، وعرض في القسم الثالث كيفية العمل في السيناريوات ضمن البرنامج أكسل، وفي القسم الرابع عرض لكيفية العمل ضمن برامج الماكرو لاختصار تنفيذ العمليات الروتينية في البرنامج أكسل، وفي القسم الخامس عرض لمقدرات البرنامج أكسل في الانترنت، وضم القسم السادس عمليات ختامية متنوعة مثل إنشاء التفصيلات، القوالب، إضافة تعليق للخلايا ومراقبتها لإزالة الأخطاء وحماية أوراق العمل.
