وما بين دفتي الكتاب قصائد تبحث في ميثولوجيات الأثر العراقي القديم وأساطير ذاته المهووسة بالمغامرة، والأسئلة التي تلامس هو في الخلق واللذة والمدونات والخلود وقدامة الوجود.
في قصيدة بعنوان (واحد وثمانون) يقول: "... أيها السادة الذين يأكلون العشب والورق الأصفر يا من تركتم من ورائكم ألواح الفطرة واليأس (...) مازندران يا قبلة الأسرار والحكايا والأساطير هل تتذكرين الفزع في الليلة الرهيبة؟ كيف يسطع في قلبك كمان وحيد وبضعة منشدين (...) أيها الانسان يا ابن الدموع والشفقة ها أنت من جديد ترسم ظلاً ولا يسقط فيه غير الموتى (...)".
يضم الكتاب سبعة وثلاثون قصيدة ومقطعاً نثرياً جاءت بعناوين مختلفة نذكر منها: "بغداديات"، "اللحظة الجانية"، "سيدة تحتضر"، "مزامير متأخرة" "ما يذوي هو الروح"... اله
