ترتبط المجتمعات العُمانية بتراثها العظيم إرتباطاً وثيقاً لا يمكن لأحد أن يتجاهله، حيث يتعدد في فنونه التقليدية الجميلة وألحانه الشجية، ويضم هذا الديوان بين دفّتيه مجموعة من الأشعار الشعبية في مختلف الفنون التقليدية كالعازي والرزحة والميدان والبعض من شعر فنون البادية والفنون الأخرى المغناة، وستجد أغلب شعر الروحة عبارة عن مجموعة من المساجلات مع عدد من الشعراء الذين قد ذاع صيتهم، ونخبة من الشعراء الشباب، وربما سائل يسأل لماذا هي المساجلات أكثر؟ فذلك يعود بالطبع إلى طبيعة محافظات جنوب وشمال الشرقية، وبالذات محافظة جنوب الشرقية التي بقيت تحافظ على هذه الفنون وخصوصاً (الرزحة) في ولاية صور وما جاورها من ولايات، حيث لا تخلو ولاية أو قرية أو مناسبة فرح من فن الرزحة.
وقد تضمن الكتاب القصائد والمساجلات وذلك حسب الجدول التالي:
أ: الوطنية.
ب – الإجتماعية والوجدانية.
ج – المراسلات.
د – المساجلات.
ه – شعر فن الرزحة ناحية ولد ساعد.
