"تعبير" مجموعة شعرية تضم تسعة وثلاثين مقطعاً شعرياً احتوتها صفحات الكتاب للشاعر "عيد الخميسي" اعتمدت على ثراء اللغة وتوالدها وعمق مجازها. وفي هذا العمل، يوظف الشاعر مضموناً وتقنية ومفردات التجربة الابداعية الصوفية ذات الحكمة والرؤيا المتسعة في المعنى والمضمون معاً؛ وهذا ما يؤيده إهداء المجموعة الشعرية إلى رمز كالشيخ عبد الغني اسماعيل النابلسي (المتوفي سنة 1143هـ) في بداية الكتاب. "تعبير" هو انتقال من حال إلى حال بلغة تحيط بالعقل والحس بعيداً عن الصورة الشعرية والخيالية وعن تفاصيل اليومي وتسير حسب سلطة اللغة في التعبير عن الحالة التي أدخلنا عبد الخميسي إليها ليقرأ أعوالمها بطريقته الخاصة. فأصبح شاعرنا متمثلاً في هيئة مريد ولكنه مريد شاعر لقطب ما، هو قطب الشعر وعشق البحث الشعري يقول: "التعبير انتقال من حالٍ إلى حال، في إنشائه ضيق إن توقفت عند المشاهدة وارتديت من موضع العين، فالضمير في الرؤيا أقوى من النظر. المشاهدة لا ينقلها مثيلها: ينزع بها الكلام وهما كشجرةٍ تطلع في الجحيم وأخرى قرب ينبوع، وهي لا تأتي على محضٍ أبداً، تصب في الضمير وتحتبس فيه وقد يعتورها الكتمان أو يغشاها ما يغشاها من الخشية واليقظة، وفي ذلك اتساع حيثما ذهبت ولم يسترقك ظل شجرة أو سيفٍ".
