الشعر هو إعادة النظر من جديد لكل شيء حول الشاعر، هو تخليص اللغة من العادي والمبتذل إلى الرؤيا، الشاعر الذي يقترب اليوم من واقعه هو القادر على طرح أسئلة دائمة وعلى كتابة قصيدة لا لتشرح هذا الواقع بل لتمزجه حساسية ورؤيا، وفي قصائد محمد البكري في هذه المجموعة فضاءات شعرية كتبت بعيداً عن ضجيج تعريفات الشعر وبعيداً عن كون الشعر طريقة تعبير فقط، بل هو وجود الشاعر وليس وجوده الذاتي في النص بل وجوده الجمالي كذلك والذي يؤمن بطاقة الشعر وفلسفته الجمالية، إنه الشعر حين يتخلص من شوائبه ويكتب بحاسة مرهفة ومحلقة تاركاً ما ليس من مهام اللحظة الشعرية على ضفاف ونوافذ أخرى، ليست القصيدة وهي تتكئ على الراهن والطارئ بل على الموقف الجمالي والشعوري من الأشياء حولنا، وعلى اللغة وهو يمارسها بطريقة تخصه ومن ثم بنص يعي تماماً تقنيته وأدواته، ولعل هذا لم يتولد سوى بمثابرة وقراءة متنوعة لتجارب شعرية كثيرة مما أتاح للبكري أن يضع بصمته مبكراً على خارطة التجربة الشعرية الحديثة.
ومن قصائد الكتاب نقرأ قصيدة بعنوان: "خمسة قلوب": الروح لها قلب واحد، ولحبك خمسة قلوب، مربوطة بأزرار ثوبي، تذيقني شراب الغدر، فأخلعها واحداً تلو الآخر.
